SEN (Autism) Teaching Assistant – Wigan

Are you looking to become an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school near you?

Teaching Personnel are supporting a client secondary school in Wigan with their recruitment need of an SEN (Autism specific) Teaching Assistant on a full time basis after the October half term (start of November). 

The secondary school requiring an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Autism is putting extra provisions in place to support a number of pupils with Autistm, across the school (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4) but with a bigger focus on pupils with identified needs in Year 7 who have just transitioned to the secondary school in September. 

The ideal candidate for the role will have previous experience working with Autism and will be caring, adaptable, patient and passionate about supporting pupils with SEN.

Highlights of the SEN Teaching Assistant post:

-          Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant required – supporting with Autism

-          November to Feburary initially, support is likely to be needed for the full academic year

-          Secondary school located just outside of Wigan, close to the area of Leigh

-          Working closely with pupils who have Autism, working 1:1 and in small groups to ensure they are well supported with their studies and reach their full potential.

-          Building a strong rapport with Autistic pupils

-          Previous experience working with young people and Autism(ASD) is essential for the role

-          Earning GBP1200 per month, paid weekly.

The secondary school located in Wigan is well structured with modern learning facilities and a supportive leadership / pastoral team. As a result, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting with Autism, will be fully equipped in their new role and will receive a full induction from the school.
