SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Outstanding primary – KS3 school in South Liverpool which caters for boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Almost all have statements of special educational needs with a few being formally assessed. Many have additional needs including ADHD and around a quarter have learning difficulties, including ASC.

This school are currently looking for 2 teaching assistants to start in September for long term positions. There are a maximum of 10 pupils in each class, with at least 1 Learning Support Assistant.  Pupils also access a range of intervention programmes. High expectations for learning and behaviour run through the school. Learning is paramount at this school and behaviour does not get in its way.

The Students:

  • Pupils attend from the local area and further afield
  • Poor attendance is an issue
  • Ability and needs are mixed
  • Special needs include SEMH difficulties, ADHD, ASC, ODD,
  • The cohort is male

You:

  • Passionate about raising pupil achievement
  • Experience desirable
  • Proven track record in raising pupil attainment
  • Positive behaviour management strategies
