Job description
Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
We’re seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a well-established specialist setting supporting children and young people with complex social communication needs and autism.
Role Description:

Provide tailored support to pupils aged 4–19, helping them engage successfully in both academic and social learning.

Work closely with teachers and therapists to follow individual education plans and behaviour strategies.
-
Support pupils’ communication development and help maintain a calm, structured environment.
-
Assist with life-skills learning, daily routines, and community-based activities.
-
Promote independence, emotional well-being, and safeguarding at all times.
Essential Experience:
-
Previous experience working in an SEN or specialist educational environment.
-
Strong understanding of autism, communication needs, and behaviour support.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
-
Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
-
Enhanced DBS required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
