SEN Teaching Assistant – Bury St Edmunds

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: After Easter

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Bury St Edmunds, where we provide high-quality education and care for children and young people aged 4–19.

A driving licence is a MUST, as well as a Child Only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, to fast track your application!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering personalised learning for children and young people with SLD and PMLD.
  • Assist with day-to-day care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Implement individual learning plans and activities to meet each student’s needs.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour within the classroom and across school.
  • Support the emotional and social development of pupils.

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence – essential for this role.
  • Child Only Enhanced DBS on the update service to fast-track your application.
  • Experience working in SEN settings is highly desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
