Are you a passionate, resilient and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting enthusiastic educators to work within specialist SEN settings and alternative provision schools across the Wirral, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored, engaging and accessible learning to pupils with:
- Autism (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Moderate, Severe or Complex Learning Difficulties
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Behavioural or trauma-related needs
You will work with small class sizes, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, ensuring every pupil receives the individual attention and support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning plans
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Use a trauma-informed and positive behaviour support approach
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and senior leadership
- Track pupil progress and maintain clear, accurate records
- Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and emotional wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) – essential
- Experience working in SEN or alternative provision (school, PRU, specialist setting or similar)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A patient, adaptable and empathetic teaching style
- Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
