Job description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist education setting for a Temp-to-Perm Teacher to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated teacher who understands the needs of young people with autism, including those with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and is committed to achieving positive outcomes for every learner.
About the Setting
This is a 52-week residential special school providing high-quality care and education for young people aged 11–19 with autism or related social communication needs. Many students have complex profiles, associated learning difficulties and behaviours that can challenge.
The school benefits from an experienced on-site therapy team who work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure students can fully access the curriculum.
Situated in a beautiful national park location close to the coast, the school makes excellent use of its surroundings. Students regularly engage in off-site learning opportunities with external partners, enhancing their educational experience and real-world skills.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum to a mixed Key Stage 3 and 4 class of six students. Each student is supported on a one-to-one basis throughout the school day, allowing for highly personalised learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering and adapting schemes of work
- Creating medium-term plans and detailed lesson plans
- Teaching across the curriculum to a small class group
- Supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in both academic learning and personal development
- Contributing to curriculum development in line with your skills and experience

Package
- Salary up to £39,600 per annum (dependent on experience)
- 37 hours per week
- Term time only
- Temp to perm opportunity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
