Job description

SEN Primary Teacher and KS2 Lead Required

We are supporting a specialist school that provides education for autistic children and young people aged 5–19. The school offers both day placements and weekly boarding, and is designed for learners who are academically able but benefit from a tailored, structured environment to help them reach their full potential.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Teach a small Primary class of up to 10 pupils, delivering a varied and engaging curriculum
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of learners on the autism spectrum
  • Lead the Key Stage 2 team, supporting high‑quality teaching and contributing to ongoing improvement across the phase
  • Oversee key areas such as pupil progress, curriculum development, team support, and communication with families
  • Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Confident leadership abilities, including team coordination and supporting staff performance
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to promote positive behaviour and create a supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Competent with ICT systems (e.g., Google Suite, email, and school databases)

Desirable:

  • Additional training or qualifications related to SEN/Autism
  • NPQML or equivalent leadership qualification
  • Experience with EHCPs, intervention planning, or contributing to school improvement
