SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity where no two days are the same? We’re looking for a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our supportive and nurturing SEMH secondary Schools. You will play a vital role in supporting children who have challenging behaviour, Mental Health needs such as Depression, High level Anxiety and social and emotional difficulties. You will aid these students in overcoming barriers to education and helping them thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
About the Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Building trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning atmosphere
- Assisting students in accordance with their EHCP’s
Key Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
