Job Title: Secondary English Teacher

Location: South Shields

Start Date: April 2026

Contract: Flexible (Short-term and long-term fixtures available)

Salary- £130-£251 a day (paid to scale from day 1)

Are you an English teacher with an enthusiasm for learning and inspiring the future generation? Teaching personnel is seeking skilled and passionate English teachers to join our network- offering their skills to secondary schools in and around South Shields.

This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who are passionate about inspiring students and supporting their academic development in English.

About the role:

  • Delivering consistent, high quality English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4 (opportunities for KS5)
  • Creating a positive and motivating classroom environment, that encourages progress and passion
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively

Desirable candidates will have:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or surrounding relevant teaching qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching English at a secondary level
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students and teachers
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, classroom management and student behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
