Residential SEN Support Workers – Temp to Perm Opportunities

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our partner residential services as Residential SEN Support Workers. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, beginning on a temporary agency contract with the chance to progress into a permanent role following a successful transition period.

As a Residential SEN Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a safe, nurturing, and structured residential setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing emotional and practical support to promote independence and personal growth

  • Assisting with daily routines, life skills, and social development

  • Encouraging participation in educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities

  • Working collaboratively with a dedicated team to maintain consistent, high-quality care

  • Ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of every young person

You will work a rolling rota that includes both day and waking night shifts, ensuring balanced hours and consistent support.

Typical shifts include:

Day shifts:
07:00–17:00
07:30–22:00
12:00–22:00
07:00–22:30

Waking night shifts:
22:00–08:00

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in childcare, SEN, or support work is beneficial but not essential, as full training is provided

  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
