Job Opportunity: Reception Teacher for September
Location: Wigan (WN3)
Pay: Pay-To-Scale (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential for Permanent Role)
A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Wigan (WN3) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join their supportive team from September 2025. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential from the very start of their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, play-based lessons aligned with the EYFS Framework.
- Foster a supportive and stimulating classroom that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
- Support the social, emotional, and physical development of all pupils in Reception.
- Monitor, assess, and record children’s progress to inform future planning and personalised support.
- Work closely with parents and carers to ensure consistent support for each child’s development.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in an EYFS setting, particularly Reception (through teaching roles or placements).
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and early learning goals.
- A nurturing, enthusiastic, and child-focused teaching approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.
- Training and experience in phonics delivery.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
