Qualified DT Teacher
Job description
We are working with a secondary school in Harrow seeking a passionate and practical Design & Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a DT specialist who can deliver engaging, hands-on lessons and inspire students to develop both creative and technical skills.
The Role:
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5 depending on experience. You will plan and deliver a broad DT curriculum that may include product design, resistant materials, graphics, or food technology, tailored to your specialism.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons that promote creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking

Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies

Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring workshop/classroom environment

Support pupils of varying abilities through effective differentiation

Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community

Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology
-
Experience teaching DT in a UK secondary school setting
-
Confident classroom management skills
-
A creative, enthusiastic, and resilient approach to teaching

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
