Supply Teacher – Chester-le-Street

Reception to Year 6 | Flexible Working | Full & Half Days Available

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Qualified Teachers (QTS) to join our supply pool in Chester-le-Street and the surrounding areas. If you enjoy variety, value flexibility, and love working across primary year groups, this is an excellent opportunity for you.


About the Role

As a supply teacher with Teaching Personnel, you will have the freedom to choose the year groups you prefer to teach, from Reception up to Year 6. You’ll be supporting local primary schools with short-term and longer-term cover, ensuring continuity of learning while classroom teachers are absent.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for teachers who are:

  • Fully Qualified Teachers (FQT) with QTS – this is essential
  • Confident teaching across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Adaptable, reliable, and able to hit the ground running
  • Strong communicators with excellent behaviour management
  • Willing to travel to different primary schools (car preferred)
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality education to all pupils

Job Requirements

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons or follow pre-prepared plans
  • Maintain a positive, safe learning environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Mark work where required (depending on booking type)
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times
  • Communicate professionally with staff and leadership teams
