Job description

Primary English Tutor – Derby (DE3)

Are you passionate about helping children develop strong literacy skills? TP Tutors is looking for a Primary English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils in Derby (DE3). This is a rewarding opportunity to support children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them gain confidence, improve reading and writing, and reach their full potential.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging, tailored 1:1 English lessons

  • Supporting pupils with reading, writing, comprehension, and grammar

  • Developing creative and fun learning activities to keep children motivated

  • Tracking progress and planning next steps to boost learning outcomes

  • Building confidence and a love of learning in each child


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience teaching or tutoring primary-aged children (KS1/KS2)

  • Strong knowledge of English curriculum and literacy skills

  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit individual needs

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for helping children succeed

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Competitive hourly rates (£25+)
Flexible hours, Monday–Friday, school hours
Approximately 13 weeks off per year

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
