This school is a pupil referral unit based on a small school site in Sherborne in Dorset. They provide an education setting for pupils who are unable to learn in mainstream settings or may need intervention to re-engage with mainstream education.
They encourage and support students to foster their self-belief and self-esteem to achieve and succeed both academically and equally as important, socially, and emotionally which will lead them onto their next steps with confidence.
KS3 short term placed students are supported academically and socially, with strategies and planned interventions. The intention is that these students are reintegrated back into mainstream education successfully. KS4 students have a personalised programme of study that follows the national curriculum, identifying and addressing knowledge gaps. They are supported, guided and managed to gain qualifications suited to their future career choices.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to our students. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning.
This is a part time position working Monday and Tuesday 08:45 - 15:15, as well as Thursday mornings 08:45 - 12:00.
Key attributes for this role are:
- Experience of supporting children or adults with SEN needs and/or disabilities SEND especially in SEMH.
- High expectations of children's progress, attainment, and behaviour.
- The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems.
- Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
- Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships.
- Has emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
