Job description

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Tidworth is seeking to appoint a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join their department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to become part of a supportive school community with a strong focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop confidence in languages and an appreciation of different cultures. The role would suit both experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers who are keen to develop their practice within a collaborative and well-resourced department.

The MFL Teacher will be expected to plan and deliver well-structured lessons, assess student progress accurately, and adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners with a range of abilities. A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all students is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching MFL across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum

  • Planning creative and differentiated lessons that engage and challenge students

  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress

  • Contributing to curriculum development within the MFL department

  • Maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice

  • Supporting the wider life of the school where appropriate

The school is seeking an MFL Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Has strong subject knowledge in one or more modern foreign languages

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Is committed to raising standards and promoting a love of languages

  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with students and staff
