Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEN School

Location: WF7
Hours: Full-time (term-time)
Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work in a special educational needs (SEN) school in the WF7 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of complex needs in a nurturing, specialist environment.

The Role

As an LSA, you will be supporting children and young people with EHCPs, working closely with teaching staff and therapists to help pupils access learning and develop independence.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Supporting pupils with personal care where required

  • Assisting with moving and handling (training provided if needed)

  • Supporting pupils with communication, sensory, behavioural and physical needs

  • Helping to implement individual support plans and strategies

  • Creating a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or support settings)

  • Comfortable with personal care and physical support

  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach

  • Able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Willingness to undertake moving & handling / safeguarding training
