Teaching Assistant KS2 – Primary School in Didsbury, M20 (Start Date: After Easter)
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Didsbury is partnering with Teaching Personnel to appoint a caring, proactive, and committed Teaching Assistant to start after February half term.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and contributing to a positive, collaborative school community.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping pupils grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with the class teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support across the curriculum
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and pupil assessments
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Supporting children with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting daily routines
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Contributing to wider school life, including events, enrichment, and team planning
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual who is dedicated to making a difference in children’s education. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a primary setting
- A positive, nurturing attitude and a genuine interest in education
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet a range of learning needs
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs and using inclusive strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
