Intervention Teaching Assistant – Primary School (NP19 Area)

Pay: From £92.95 per day

A welcoming and supportive primary school in the NP19 area is seeking a motivated and skilled Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves delivering targeted support to help pupils close gaps in learning and achieve their full potential.
✅ About the Role
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant in a primary school, you will:
- Deliver structured intervention sessions in phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to boost progress and confidence.
- Support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and/or Key Stage 2 depending on school needs.
- Use school‑provided resources and assessment tools to track progress.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning activities.
- Provide consistent encouragement to help children develop resilience and independence.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates who:
- Have experience supporting learning in a primary school environment.
- Are confident delivering core subject interventions.
- Have good knowledge of phonics schemes (Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics, etc.) – desirable.
- Are patient, positive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Can work proactively and follow guidance from teachers and senior leaders.
Teaching assistant qualifications (Level 2/3) are beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
