Inclusion Support Assistant – SEMH Secondary School
Location: Oldham
Full-Time | Term-Time Only

We are working with a welcoming and well-resourced SEMH secondary school in Oldham that is looking to appoint a dedicated Inclusion Support Assistant to join their supportive team.

The Role
As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Help students regulate emotions, develop coping strategies and engage in learning
- Support positive behaviour using clear boundaries, consistency and encouragement
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider inclusion team
- Build strong, trusting relationships to help students feel safe, understood and motivated

Who We’re Looking For
Experience in a school is beneficial but not essential. We welcome candidates with transferable experience, including:
- Youth work or mentoring
- Care, support work or residential settings
- Sports coaching or outdoor education
- Mental health support roles
- Working with vulnerable young people or challenging behaviour
You will be:
- Calm, patient and resilient
- Confident setting boundaries and supporting positive behaviour
- A strong communicator and team player
- Passionate about inclusion and helping young people succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
