Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department at a thriving secondary school in Rochdale. Starting in September 2025, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about inspiring the next generation and fostering a love of history, geography, and other humanities subjects.
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and engage students, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success. You will be part of a close-knit team, working collaboratively to create an innovative curriculum and a nurturing learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4 KS3 and KS4.

Use a variety of teaching methods to support students' learning and encourage independent thought.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback that helps drive improvement.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.

Contribute to extracurricular activities related to the Humanities curriculum, such as clubs or trips.

Participate in departmental meetings and professional development to enhance your teaching skills.
Requirements:

A passion for Humanities and a commitment to teaching young people.

A relevant degree in Humanities or a related field.

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
