Salary: £32,916 – £51,047 annually (actual) + TLR 2B

Are you a passionate linguist ready to shape a brand-new department? We are seeking an inspiring Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead the design and delivery of an ambitious, knowledge-rich languages curriculum within a growing secondary school environment.

As Head of MFL, you will:

• Lead the creation of a coherent, academically rigorous MFL curriculum.
• Shape the department’s long-term vision, ethos, and identity.
• Model exemplary teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
• Build, mentor, and inspire a team of practitioners as the school expands.
• Develop high-quality resources, enrichment programmes, and cultural experiences.
• Ensure MFL becomes an ambitious, vibrant, and intellectually rich subject area.
• Support new colleagues as the department grows, nurturing confident, expert teachers.
• Teach an additional subject in the first year of development, contributing to whole-school needs.

You will play a key role in shaping a department that supports linguistic fluency, cultural literacy, and confident communication.

• Experienced in KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable as wider campus provision evolves).
