Lead Creativity, Innovation & Design – Head of Art, Design & Technology (ADT)
Location: Cambridgeshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £32,916 – £51,047 annually (actual) + TLR 2B
Are you a creative, dynamic, and visionary educator ready to shape an exciting new department? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Art, Design & Technology to lead and develop a wide-ranging ADT provision that includes Art, Design Technology, and Food & Nutrition.
This is a rare opportunity to build a department entirely from scratch within a growing secondary environment—designing curriculum, shaping specialist spaces, establishing high standards, and inspiring a culture of innovation and creative excellence.
⭐ About the Role
As Head of Art, Design & Technology, you will:
- Lead and inspire teaching across Art, Design Technology, and Food & Nutrition.
- Design an ambitious, engaging, and innovative curriculum for KS3 and beyond as the school expands.
- Shape the long-term vision, ethos, and identity of the ADT department.
- Build and mentor a growing team of practitioners, supporting recruitment and professional development.
- Champion high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across all ADT disciplines.
- Oversee departmental resources, specialist equipment, workshop spaces, and health & safety procedures.
- Foster strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community.
- Support new colleagues as the department grows, developing confident, expert practitioners.
