Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant – Rochdale Secondary School

Location: Rochdale
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start a rewarding career in education or psychology? Teaching Personnel is seeking a Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students in a Rochdale secondary school who experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs such as Anxiety, Attachment difficulties, Low self-esteem and confidence, Challenging behaviour and Trauma related needs. You will have a profound and positive impact on the students you will support and aid them in achieving their goals.

About the Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help students engage with learning.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to create a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management to foster a positive learning environment
  • Adapt learning materials and approach to support individual needs
  • Build strong and trusted rapports with students to support their social and emotional development

Requirements

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or related field.

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
