Join Our Team as a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - September 2023 Start

Are you a recent Maths graduate with a passion for education and a desire to empower students to succeed in mathematics? Do you have a heart for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, as well as helping underachieving students reach their full potential? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant at our secondary school in Bramhall, starting in September 2023.

The Role: As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to support students with SEN/SEMH and boost the achievement of underachieving students in mathematics. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Individualized Support: Work closely with students on a one-on-one or small group basis to provide tailored support in mathematics, adapting your teaching methods to meet their specific needs.

  • Curriculum Enhancement: Collaborate with the Maths department to develop and deliver engaging materials and activities that cater to different learning styles.

  • SEMH and SEN Support: Assist students with SEMH and SEN requirements, helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive.

  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for mathematics and education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
