Job description

A welcoming and ambitious mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join their team from April 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive Humanities department committed to delivering a broad, engaging and thought-provoking Geography curriculum. The school prides itself on fostering curiosity about the world, encouraging students to think critically about environmental, social and global issues.

The Role:

  • Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential).

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and inspire.

  • Monitoring and assessing student progress to ensure strong academic outcomes.

  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities, including fieldwork where appropriate.

  • Supporting the wider ethos and community of the school.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification).

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography.

  • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills.

  • Be proactive, reflective and able to work collaboratively within a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
