Food Technology Technician – 6 Week Cover
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Technician to provide 6 weeks’ cover at a secondary school. This is an excellent short-term opportunity to support the Food Technology department in a busy and well-organised school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparing ingredients, equipment, and materials for Food Technology lessons

Supporting teaching staff during practical lessons

Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment

Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when required
-
Ensuring health and safety and food hygiene standards are followed at all times
Requirements:
-
Previous experience as a Food Technician in a school is preferred
-
Alternatively, experience as a chef, cook, or within catering/food preparation will be considered
-
Good knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety procedures
-
Organised, dependable, and able to work well as part of a team
Safeguarding:
-
An Enhanced Child only/Child & Adult DBS certificate on the Update Service is ideal

Applicants without one must be willing to obtain a DBS check before starting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
