Salary: £162 – £251 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and motivated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an inspiring educator who loves food, nutrition, and practical learning. You will play a key part in developing students’ skills in cooking, food science, and healthy living—helping them build confidence, independence, and valuable life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Food Technology lessons tailored to a range of abilities
• Teach essential skills in food preparation, nutrition, health, and food science
• Inspire creativity, curiosity, and problem‑solving through practical cooking sessions
• Assess student progress and provide constructive, supportive feedback
• Maintain a safe, well‑organised and inclusive classroom environment
• Support wider school initiatives, including cooking clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge across Food Technology, nutrition, and safe working practices
• Experience teaching at secondary level is desirable (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply!)
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom‑management skills
• A passion for motivating and inspiring students in practical learning environments
• A creative, proactive, and supportive teaching approach
