Food Technology Technician
A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Poole is seeking a Food Technology Technician to join their Design & Technology department. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and practical individual who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting students’ learning behind the scenes.
The Role:
The Food Technology Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the food technology department. Working closely with teaching staff, the successful candidate will help prepare engaging and safe practical lessons for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for food technology lessons

Supporting teachers during practical sessions where required

Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored safely

Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and monitoring budgets

Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety in line with school policies

Carrying out regular health and safety checks within food preparation areas
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has experience working in a food preparation, catering, or school-based environment (desirable)
-
Possesses good organisational and time-management skills
-
Has a strong understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures
-
Is reliable, proactive and able to work independently
-
Enjoys supporting young people in a learning environment
Food Hygiene certification is desirable, though training may be provided for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
