EYFS Teaching Assistant – Nursery Class
Location: Preston
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Pay Rate: £14.30 per hour
Contract: Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting young children in their earliest stages of learning? A welcoming and high-performing mainstream primary school in Preston is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery team.
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children aged 3–4 within a nurturing Nursery environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children’s learning through play-based activities
- Assisting with small-group work and 1:1 support where required
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging early years setting
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider EYFS team
- Supporting the development of children’s communication, social and emotional skills
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children in an early year’s setting is essential
- Early Years qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Childcare or EYFS) are desirable but not essential
- A warm, patient, and positive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to supporting every child’s individual development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
