EYFS Teacher

The Headteacher of a large Primary School in Blackburn is keen to secure an enthusiastic team player who can work collaboratively alongside a partner teacher to contribute to each child’s development in the Early Years class. This is a full-time teaching role and the working days will be Monday to Friday every week. The Headteacher and governing body are keen to secure an Early Years specialist who is confident teaching phonics and comfortable in following the Early Learning Goals. This role is teaching the youngest children in the school, therefore applicants must be excellent role-models with an excellent understanding of the EYFS.

The School

This is a larger than average sized Primary School. The percentage of pupils eligible for pupil premium funding is in line with the national average.  The Headteacher is well respected by the community, staff and pupils and has noted that their current EYFS team are second to none! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to join a welcoming team of professionals with a genuine passion for contributing towards each child’s development. Senior Leaders encourage involvement from parents and the school often organise events allowing the children’s parents to have involvement in the curriculum and school life, workshops include ‘phonics at home’, ‘reading at home’ amongst others.

The Role

The role will be to undertake a full-time position working every day. This will be a class teacher role in the EYFS department. You will have support from two dedicated teaching assistants as well as a full time SEN support assistant. The role is to start from Easter and last until the teacher returns from maternity, expected to be in December 2020. This is expected to be around 6 – 9 months in total. Within the role you will be expected to undertake the full class teacher role; planning and assessing in line with the Early Learning Goals and the EYFS Curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
