Are you a passionate and knowledgeable English specialist ready to help shape a new school’s academic identity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a growing team at a new and ambitious secondary setting. ⭐ About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that develop strong foundational skills in reading, writing, vocabulary, and literary understanding.
  • Teach a rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum designed to build powerful disciplinary knowledge.
  • Contribute to a Year 7 transition programme that integrates literacy development with elements of PSHE and Citizenship.
  • Provide adaptive teaching and effective scaffolding to ensure every pupil—including those with SEND—can access a challenging curriculum.
  • Work closely with the SEND team to ensure classroom practice supports diverse needs.
  • Use assessment intelligently to check understanding, address misconceptions, and secure strong progress.
  • Contribute to the shaping of the English department during its foundational phase.
  • Support enrichment opportunities such as debating clubs, competitions, reading groups, and theatre visits.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, modelling professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement.
