English Teacher
Job description
Do you specialise in teaching English? If so, we are working with a specialist school in the Stockport area to recruit an SEMH Teacher specialising in the above, covering staff maternity leave.
The chosen individual would be supporting students aged 11-16 years with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication and mild learning difficulties.
The school itself is an independent provision, proud of the caring, unique and inclusive environment they have created. Supporting students that face anxiety, communication difficulties, trauma, and mild learning difficulties.
The ideal candidate will be pro-active in ensuring the maximum quality of care to their students. As this school aims to do the very best for every young person that joins them; maintaining the belief that each student deserves recognition, respect and is unique.
The ideal SEMH Teacher will be:
- Experienced in teaching English language/literature
- Skilled in working with SEMH, confident in supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges
- Available to work between 08:30-16:00
It would also be beneficial for applicants to have:
- Confidence in supporting instances of challenging behaviour
- Experience in supporting young people in a school or care environment within the UK
- A positive, nurturing and proactive attitude

The role is subject to standard vetting checks including:
- References for employment within the last two years
- Safeguarding training
- DBS on the Update Service
Due to the nature of placements, those not currently residing in the UK are unable to be put forward for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
