You would be expected to:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)
  • Plan and teach engaging, challenging lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong outcomes
  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the English department
  • Uphold high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and pastoral support

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
  • Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and improving life chances
  • Be reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional development
  • Work effectively as part of a team

Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply.

Salary will be paid in line with the appropriate teaching scale point (MPS/UPS), dependent on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
