Job description

Inspire Learners Who Think Differently

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a specialist provision supporting young people with severe autism, Asperger’s profiles and complex communication and learning needs. The school offers a calm, structured and nurturing environment where creativity is encouraged and every achievement is celebrated.

You will deliver engaging English lessons that support literacy, communication and confidence, adapting your teaching to meet each learner’s unique needs. You’ll be part of a supportive and skilled team who work collaboratively to create meaningful learning pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver accessible, creative English lessons

  • Differentiate teaching to support diverse SEN needs

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students

  • Work alongside therapists, leaders and support staff

  • Maintain a calm, structured classroom environment

  • Track progress and contribute to personalised learning plans


What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 6 months of childcare or SEN experience (essential)

  • Experience supporting students with autism or complex needs

  • Driving licence required due to rural location

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification

  • Patience, creativity and strong behaviour management

  • Passion for helping young people develop communication and confidence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
