Job description

Join the English department of a large secondary school in Bolton, providing support for pupils aged 11-16.

  • Full-time English teacher.
  • Start Date -  September 2025
  • Paid in line with teaching scale – M1 – UPS1
  • Teaching pupils aged 11-16.

The incoming English teacher will be teaching across Key Stage 3 and GCSE and will be expected to take on a full timetable. The successful candidate will also be expected to take on full planning and marking responsibilities alongside delivering lessons to meet the needs of learners at varying levels of learning ability. It will also be important to monitor and assess pupils’ progress and be able to report this back to the English department should it require further discussion.

Our client school is in Bolton and can be accessed via the M62, M66, and A56 from the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester including Bury, Salford and Worsley. For candidates who do not drive, the school is also easily accessible via public transport from the neighbouring including Farnworth, Horwich and Rivington.

To be considered for this position, the incoming teacher must have:

  • QTS
  • Experience teaching English to GCSE level

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
