Job description

English Supply Teacher – Secondary Schools 

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting English Supply Teachers to work across a network of partner secondary schools in Trafford and surrounding areas, including Stretford, Urmston, Sale, Chorlton, and South Manchester.

Our partner schools regularly require subject‑specialist English teachers to provide day‑to‑day cover, short‑term assignments, and ongoing supply work. This is an excellent opportunity for English teachers at any stage of their career, from ECTs who have recently completed their PGCE to experienced teachers seeking flexible work.

This role offers complete flexibility, allowing you to choose how many days you work each week – whether that’s one day a week or full‑time (five days).

About the Role:

  • Delivering English lessons at KS3 and KS4
  • Providing high‑quality cover that maintains continuity of learning
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Adapting quickly to different school environments

Requirements:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Ability to commute across Trafford and nearby South Manchester schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Passion for English and supporting student progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
