Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Wigan

Location: Primary Schools across Wigan (Leigh, Standish, Hindley, Ashton-in-Makerfield & surrounding areas)
Start Date: Immediate and September starts available
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time & Part-Time, Ad-Hoc Cover
Daily Rate: Pay-to-Scale

Are you an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher looking to gain hands-on experience across a variety of primary settings in Wigan?

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across the Wigan borough that are eager to work with motivated ECTs. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your confidence, develop your classroom practice, and explore different teaching environments before committing to a permanent post.

Whether you’re seeking regular work or want to try out a few different settings first, we offer flexible opportunities that support your professional development as you begin your teaching journey.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) achieved or pending.
  • Experience across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 during training placements.
  • A passion for creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and behaviour strategies.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
