DT Food Teacher
Job description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Design Technology with a specialism in Food Technology to join a committed and forward thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is dedicated to delivering high quality teaching and learning and inspiring students to develop practical skills, creativity and a lifelong understanding of food, nutrition and design.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well structured Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will plan and teach lessons that are inclusive, practical and knowledge rich, enabling all pupils to make strong progress regardless of starting point. You will use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress, provide effective feedback and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, well organised and stimulating learning environment, ensuring that health and safety procedures are rigorously followed at all times. You will contribute to curriculum development, supporting the continued improvement of the DT curriculum in line with national expectations and whole school priorities.
We are looking for a teacher who demonstrates strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, including nutrition, food preparation skills and food science. You will be reflective, organised and committed to continuous professional development. Strong classroom management, high expectations and the ability to motivate and engage students are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
