Job description

A forward-thinking and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their team from April 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and skilled practitioner to become part of a well-resourced Technology department that values practical learning, problem-solving and real-world application. The school is committed to providing students with hands-on experiences that develop technical skills, creativity and confidence.

The Role:

  • Teaching Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).

  • Delivering engaging, practical lessons across relevant specialisms (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or similar).

  • Supporting students in developing design, making and evaluation skills.

  • Ensuring high standards of health and safety within workshop environments.

  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification).

  • Have strong subject knowledge within Design and Technology.

  • Be confident delivering practical lessons in a workshop/classroom setting.

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Be passionate about inspiring creativity and technical understanding in young people.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply, as well as experienced teachers seeking a fresh challenge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
