Complex Needs Support Workers Required

Wirral Primary Schools through Teaching Personnel

  • Contracts: Full-time, part-time and/or flexible hours 
  • Start dates: ASAP and September 2026
  • Location: Acorss Wirral (Birkenhead, Wallasey etc)

 

Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit Comp lex Needs Support Workers to join our partnered primary schools across the Wirral. You will provide direct support to pupils with a range of complex needs including:

  • ASC
  • ADHD
  • SEMH
  • Physical and sensory needs
  • Communication and learning differences

Your role will focus on helping pupils access learning, regulating emotions, encouraging independence and ensuring they feel safe, understood and supported.


Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 1:1 or small‑group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Deliver tailored interventions following EHCP or school guidance
  • Use de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Support pupils with communication, life skills and personal development
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

You do not need prior school experience, although it’s beneficial. What matters most is your compassion, resilience, and willingness to support children with diverse, sometimes challenging needs.

We are looking for applicants that come from backgrounds, such as:

  • Care Work
  • Support work
  • Youth work
  • Psychology / Criminology / Social Science
  • Residential Care or Community Support
