Job description

Supporting Children with Autism, SEMH, and a Range of Additional Needs

Are you an adaptable, proactive, and compassionate educator looking to make a genuine difference every day? A small, nurturing school based in GL14 is seeking dedicated individuals to join its committed team and support children with a wide range of needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).

About the School

The school provides a warm, supportive environment where both pupils and staff are valued. With small class sizes of up to 8 students, staff are able to focus on strong relationships, personalised learning, and a calm, structured atmosphere. The team works closely together, united by a shared commitment to supporting the children in the best way they can.

The Role

As an Educator, you will:

  • Support children with diverse needs, especially autism and SEMH
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported
  • Adapt your approach to meet individual learning styles and emotional needs
  • Use a proactive and flexible mindset to respond to challenges
  • Work collaboratively with a passionate, tight‑knit staff team
  • Help create an environment where every child can thrive

About You

The school is looking for individuals who are:

  • Patient, resilient, and naturally empathetic
  • Able to adapt quickly and think creatively
  • Motivated to support young people who may struggle with traditional learning
  • Team players who bring positivity and commitment
  • Open to learning new skills and approaches

Experience within SEND, autism, or SEMH is beneficial but not essential—the right attitude and passion are what matter most.

Why Join the School?

  • A caring, collaborative school community
  • Small class sizes allowing for genuine connection and impact
  • Supportive leadership and ongoing professional development
  • A chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who need it most
