Ad Hoc Behaviour Support Mentor – SEMH & PRU Settings (East Lancashire)
Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in education while maintaining flexibility around your schedule? We are currently recruiting Ad Hoc Behaviour Support Mentors to work across a range of SEMH schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) throughout East Lancashire.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work, including university students, aspiring teachers, or those considering a career change into education. It is particularly well-suited to candidates with a background in youth work, psychology, sports coaching, or support work.
The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Work across a variety of specialist settings, adapting to different school environments
-
Support students in managing behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
-
Build positive, professional relationships with pupils who may present with challenging behaviours
-
Assist teaching staff in maintaining a safe and structured learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

Background in youth work, psychology, sports coaching, or support roles

Considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or pastoral support
Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Relevant experience working with children or young people (formal or informal)

Ability to travel across East Lancashire

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
