Welsh govt provides anti-bullying advice

24/09/2014 Kelly
New advice has been published by the Welsh government to help tackle bullying.

Pupils who are concerned about bullying will have access to a leaflet and poster, 'Are you being Bullied?', while parents will be able to consult an 'Is Your Child being Bullied?' leaflet.

The resources, which are available online, direct people to MEIC, the confidential, anonymous and free helpline service for children and young people in Wales up to the age of 25.

Education minister Huw Lewis said: "It's up to all of us to tackle bullying and that's why we have produced this new material which offers really useful advice to children, young people and parents who are worried about bullying."

Information is also made available on the Learning Wales website regarding a range of preventative and reactive strategies to help tackle incidents of bullying and improve learners' happiness and safety.

Additionally, Respecting Others provides a range of information to help schools establish effective strategies to prevent, respond to, monitor and record bullying.
