Dozens of children from primary schools across Sutton Coldfield will be given the chance to show off their entrepreneurial skills this summer.
From June 10th to July 22nd, youngsters from 17 primary schools across the area will learn about setting up a business by using a vacant unit in a local shopping centre and opening their own stores, the Sutton Coldfield Observer reports.
Fiona Faizey, marketing manager at The Mall in Sutton Coldfield, said it is a great opportunity to learn about the retail industry hands-on.
"The skills that they will learn will help determine their career choice and their understanding of a business environment," she told the news provider.
"We have made all the preparations at The Mall to ensure that this project is a success for the schools and we hope that it is something we can develop even further in the future."
The products on sale will be chosen by the children themselves and will include bookmarks, plants and jewellery.
