For the third season in a row Teaching Personnel’s International department entered a team in the local "Touch Aussie Rules" competition held in Clapham Common every Wednesday night. Touch Aussie rules is a really fun modified version of AFL for both males and females and is open for all our teachers to play in each week. Not only is it a great opportunity to run around once a week and enjoy the beautiful british weather, most importantly it is another opportunity to socialise meet fellow teachers and people living in London (and enjoy a few well earned and relaxing drinks at the end of the game).
Having won the grand final in our first year and unfortunately losing last year by 1 point, Teaching Personnel once again went through the season undefeated and were lucky enough to make the grand final. In a great game played in fantastic spirits by both sides, I am delighted to say that Teaching Personnel won back our title by winning the game by 2 goals. All players have not only amazing experiences from teaching and living in the UK, but also a winners medal to hang on the mantle piece when they go home! Next time you come into the International Department at Teaching Personnel you will also notice our well-earned trophy sitting on the desk as well.
Thanks to all of our Teachers from Australia, South Africa, Canada and New Zealand that played and the good news is that we will be defending our title again next year, so we would love everyone to come and play!
