During the past year we have provided cover for more special needs assignments than ever before. We have achieved significant growth in this sector with the help of our registered candidates, many of whom have tried working in this sector for the first time.
During this academic year our branch staff have spent literally hundreds of hours working in classrooms alongside teachers and teaching assistants. We have been volunteering ourselves in this way so that we can gain a better understanding of the role of teachers and teaching assistants in special needs positions. This understanding is hugely beneficial to our staff and enables them to better match candidates to special needs roles.
We are committed to these shadow days and aim to complete many more in the future.
We appreciate that most teachers and teaching assistants will have experienced teaching pupils with special needs on a daily basis. Our growth in this sector however has focussed on special schools and providing care for pupils with more profound special needs.
There are huge staff shortages in the special schools sector and we are determined to add value to the sector. We hope to achieve this by providing these schools with quality candidates who have the skills and essential qualities required to work with pupils requiring additional support.
From moderate learning difficulties to severe physical and learning difficulties, our clients regularly ask us to supply teachers and teaching assistants who can work with pupils on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups.
