Parents should make sure to get their young children back into their term-time routine before school starts to minimise stress related to heading back to school.
That is according to Lizzie Hardy, of pro-biotic brand Bio-Kult, who said that many adults do not appreciate how anxious some children can become ahead of the new school year.
She said that communication between parents and children is an important means of determining whether your children are suffering from stress about the new school term.
"It is about getting them into a routine, getting them used to getting up early in the morning, early to bed, sitting down around the table for set meals," she explained.
With the new school term set to start next month, the government has announced that 24 Free Schools will be opening their doors to students for the first time.
These schools are spread across the country, although more than half of them are concentrated in some of Britain's most disadvantaged areas.
