Staff in teaching jobs
at a primary school in Norton are set to benefit from a new community library, a local news report has said.
According to This is Staffordshire, the facility at St Mary's Catholic primary school will also be used as a family learning centre.
It was awarded a grant of £5,000 from Britannia, part of The Co-operative Financial Services, as part of efforts to help support improvements in maths and literacy skills among parents and children.
"The library, to be known as the Britannia Community Library, will promote a love of reading and offer a range of imaginative material to suit all ages, backgrounds and abilities," Ian Beardmore, head teacher at St Mary's, was quoted as saying by the publication.
In other news, the School Library Association has published a library charter to help staff in teaching jobs and school governors to create a new collection or improve their existing one.
