Norwich PE teacher wins award for hard work

15/03/2012 Kelly
The hard work and commitment of a PE teacher in Norwich have been recognised with an award.

Leah Crawford won the Norfolk County PE Award after being nominated by South Wootton Junior School's physical education coordinator, Simon Cook.

She was praised for her contribution to PE in general and at the school where she works after qualifying as a teaching assistant, Lynn News reported.

The award was organised by High Quality Physical Education and teachers from across the county were eligible for the award.

Commenting on Ms Crawford's achievement, Mr Cook told the news provider: "Leah really deserves this award in recognition of her hard work and dedication towards PE and sport in general at the school."

Last year, the school was presented with a similar award acknowledging the high quality of PE teaching it offers.

Nominations for the 2013 Pearson Teaching Awards are now open, with the organisation taking nominations through its 'thank a teacher' scheme.
