A young primary school teacher from Rugby has been presented with an award by the NASUWT in recognition of her work with the teaching union.
Suzanne Rule, 25, was named Eamonn O'Kane Young Activist of the Year 2012 at the NASUWT Annual Conference for her work as membership secretary for the Rugby and Warwickshire area.
She is also the NASUWT representative at the primary school where she teaches.
Ms Rule was presented with the award by Daphne O'Kane, wife of the former NASUWT general secretary in whose memory the award is named.
Current general secretary of the union, Chris Keates, said the annual award is presented to young teachers who have made an outstanding contribution to other NASUWT members and the teaching profession as a whole.
"Suzanne is proud to be a teacher, proud to be in the NASUWT, and is truly a worthy winner of this award," he said.
